This will allow you as an administrator to create a standard set of public holidays, but you can also create a separate schedule and link them to individual employees, for example.
To properly set up all the items, we have divided the steps as follows:
Manage holiday schedules
Create a schedule
A schedule allows you to link a set of (national) holidays and mandatory days off to your employees. To create a schedule, you can use the following steps:
2. Click the 'Add holiday schedule' button.
3. Select a template for holidays to start with here.
Do you want to create the schedule all by yourself? Then choose "New schedule".
Want a standard policy? Then, select the country from which you wish to add holidays.
Next, you can do the following:
Enter the name of the Schedule.
Indicate whether this is the default schedule for the organization. A default policy means that for new colleagues added to HoorayHR, this holiday schedule is added to their profile by default.
Possibility to add days
Possibility to remove days
Set off holidays against leave balance (turning them into mandatory holidays)
For further explanation on managing days in the setup schedule, see also "Managing days off".

Managing days off
Adding extra days to a schedule
To add an extra day to a schedule, follow these steps:
1. Open the holiday schedule you want to add a day.
2. Click the 'Add holiday' button.
3. Here, you can indicate whether you want to add a custom day or choose a standard holiday.
A custom day can be used for setting a mandatory day for the whole organization. If you use this option, please fill in the name and the date.
A default holiday is a common (national) holiday that we have prepared for you. You do not have to enter the date of the public holiday you select. HoorayHR does that for you.
If you use this option, select which public holiday you want to add from the selection field. We have prepared national holidays for the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
Tip! You can specify for both a custom day and a default holiday whether you also want to add it for future years. Check the box and it's done!
5. Once you have chosen an option, click the 'Add' button.
6. Then click 'Save' to save the schedule.
Removing days from a schedule
If you want to remove a day from a schedule, please follow these steps:
1. Open the schedule you want to remove a day from.
2. Navigate to the year from which you want to delete a public holiday.
3. Click on the 'X' symbol to remove a public holiday from the schedule.
4. Click the ‘Save’ button.
Note: if you remove a holiday from a previous year, it may affect the leave balances of employees assigned the policy.
Assign schedules to colleagues
It is possible to assign a holiday schedule to one or more colleagues. Below you will find the ways for assigning.
