Log hours

Updated this week

Depending on the linked hours policy, employees log their worked time per day or per week. HoorayHR also supports different ways to record time, such as live clocking in and out via desktop or mobile, QR code clocking, or an integration with an external app via the API.

This flexibility lets you align time tracking with how your organisation works.

Log hours at day/week level

Depending on the policy settings, employees log hours at day or week level. If you enter hours at week level, you can easily record time for multiple days in bulk.

Log hours manually

Employees manually add hours via the time-widget on the dashboard.

Timeline

In the timeline, you can add one or more time blocks for work and breaks. For each work block, besides the worked time, you can set:

  • manual compensation

  • label

  • note

Tip: if there is also leave and/or absence, you’ll see this as a block in the timeline too.

Summary

The summary automatically calculates how many hours you logged compared to the set work schedule. This way, you immediately see whether there are plus or minus hours.

In the summary, you also see the logged hours per label.

You also get an overview of the compensation rules that result from the recorded time. For example:

Note: if you violate compliance rules, for example by taking too short a break or logging time on a day that isn’t allowed, a notification appears at the top of the overview.
