In this article, we explain the added value of the Teamleader Focus integration and how to activate and use it.

The HoorayHR integration with Teamleader Focus provides a simple and efficient way to manage leave and absence for your employees. In just a few steps, you can streamline your processes and ensure that all information is accurately synchronized between the two platforms.

Integration at a glance

With the integration, you can manage all leave and absence in HoorayHR. Once a request is approved or an employee reports sick, the information is automatically synchronized to Teamleader Focus, keeping your planning and time reporting up-to-date. National holidays and mandatory leave days are also synced.

When are items synchronized?

Sync date

Set the start date for synchronization in the integration settings. All items, depending on what you've chosen to sync (leave, absence, and holidays), will be synced retroactively to Teamleader Focus.

Example: If you choose to sync all items from 1/52024, the calendar in Teamleader Focus will be populated with all holiday, leave, and absence days from that date onward, regardless of when they were requested or approved.

Leave

Once a leave request is approved in HoorayHR, it is automatically synchronized with Teamleader Focus. Any changes will be automatically reprocessed. The processing status is displayed in both the leave item and leave overview.

Sick leave

When a sick report is added or updated in HoorayHR, it is directly synced with Teamleader Focus. The processing status is visible in both the absence item and the absence overview.

Holidays

You can select the holiday schedule to sync from HoorayHR to Teamleader Focus. We ensure that all national holidays and mandatory days off added in this schedule appear in Teamleader Focus as “closed days.”

Step-by-step: Activating the integration

To activate the integration, go to app.hoorayhr.io/integrations/teamleader and follow the indicated steps.

Step 1. Connect account

Click "Connect with Teamleader Focus." You’ll be directed to Teamleader Focus to authorize the connection. Afterward, you will return to HoorayHR to complete the integration setup.

Step 2. Update Teamleader Focus settings

To activate the integration, enable "External management of leave" in Teamleader Focus settings. By doing so, you indicate that leave/absence/closed days are managed by HoorayHR.

Note: All information in Teamleader Focus will be erased and replaced with data from HoorayHR, where HoorayHR takes precedence.

Step 3. Synchronization settings

Now determine what you want to sync. This can be adjusted later.

  • Leave

  • Sick leave

  • Holidays

Set the date from which to start syncing items. If you set a past date, all items will be synced retroactively to Teamleader Focus. Note: You cannot change this date later.

Step 4. Link colleagues

To determine which Teamleader Focus users should receive leave/absence data, link HoorayHR users to a Teamleader Focus user. You can link multiple colleagues at once during integration activation.

Once employees are linked, items will be immediately synchronized with Teamleader Focus.

You can also link colleagues later from the colleague overview or in their profile by clicking the “Teamleader” badge and activating the link from there.

Note: If an employee is not linked, no data will be synchronized.

Step 5. Complete!

The integration is now active! Do you want to make changes to integration settings? Go to "Integrations" → "Settings."

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I adjust the synchronization date?

Once active, the integration date cannot be changed. However, you can delete and reactivate the integration with a new date. Since items sync retroactively, everything will be re-synced in Teamleader Focus upon reactivation.

How can I see who is linked?

In the colleague overview, you can quickly see which employees are linked to a Teamleader Focus account. Links can also be created directly from this view.

How can I stop item synchronization?

When you withdraw or delete individual items, they will immediately disappear from Teamleader Focus.

To deactivate a feature entirely, go to integration settings (Integrations → Settings) and uncheck the relevant feature. Note that all items will be immediately removed from Teamleader Focus for everyone.

If you deactivate an employee link, items will remain in Teamleader Focus. When you re-link the employee, all information from HoorayHR will sync again with Teamleader Focus, keeping all information current, with HoorayHR as the source.

How is the leave and absence duration determined in Teamleader Focus?

For full-day leave or absence, Teamleader Focus uses the exact start and end times based on the schedule in Teamleader Focus. Make sure these settings are correct.

How is partial absence synced to Teamleader Focus (absence percentage)?

For employees with partial sick leave (such as during reintegration), HoorayHR calculates the number of hours based on the Teamleader Focus schedule, adding the absence to start from the scheduled time. This ensures time reporting for that day is accurate.

For example: An employee works Monday through Friday from 9:00 - 17:00 (8 hours) and is 25% sick (2 hours). HoorayHR records this in Teamleader Focus by adding an absence item from 9:00 - 11:00, so the time report accurately reflects 2 hours of sick leave and 6 hours of work.
