Each workspace has the time off in lieu setting available by default. To start using time off in lieu in your team you need to go through the following steps.

Step 1
Go to Leave types

Step 2
Click on the three dots next to Time off in lieu and select assign. Select one or multiple colleagues who are allowed to write time off in lieu. If you want to know more about how to assign this, then read this article.

Step 3
Now employees can write overtime. When writing overtime, employees can select "time off in lieu" as a way of compensation. If you want to know more about entering hours worked, then read this article.

Assign by default to every employee (optional)

In case you want every new employee to be able to write overtime and take it as leave as well, make sure you set time off in lieu to "assign by default". To do so, take the following steps:

Step 1
Check whether the leave type is set as a default. You can make sure by checking whether the label "standard" is attached to it.

Step 2
Click the three dots and select "Edit". Select "Use as default". From now on, every new user will be assigned the time-off-in-lieu leave type.
