Time policy | Mandatory breaks

Updated this week

With mandatory breaks in an time policy, you automatically add one or more break periods to a logged working day. This way, you make sure colleagues always meet the minimum break times set by your organisation’s policy or the applicable collective labour agreement.

Set up mandatory breaks

To add a mandatory break within an time policy, go to the relevant policy or create a new one. Scroll to the mandatory breaks section and switch the toggle on (green) to activate the feature.

Next, set which days the break applies to and specify the time window when the break should apply. When a time registration overlaps the specified break period, the system automatically adds the configured break.

Note: changes to the mandatory break settings don’t apply retroactively to existing time registrations.

Unlock a mandatory break

As an admin or team lead, you can unlock the mandatory break from within a registration. After you unlock it, the system won’t automatically add mandatory breaks when you save the time registration again.
